Sekyah never took her eyes off the odd shape of light ahead.
Squinting her eyes, it dawned on her, it should be growing larger, brighter by now.
The straight shot, for almost two full miles to the bar, meant she had a clear view.
So, her sleep deprived brain surmised; drawing nearer meant the dim light would brighten not continue to be a small narrow pinpoint like now.
Blinking in confusion, it slowly dawned on her she’d lifted her foot off the gas pedal.
This is ridiculous, she thought, ‘No need to be wary.’
It’s a bar; his bar, his community, and she was passing through it like a thief in the night, slinking through his territory hoping to escape before being caught.
